12 Miles SIDEWAYS
I did not go sideways, but the rain sure did
.
For about 85% of our run, it rained torentially. We were completely soaked by the end mile 2 and stayed that way for another 10. The skies just opened up and except for a couple of brief moments, the rain was ceaseless.
My pace group colleagues will disagree with me, but it might have been the most enjoyable yet. Instead of hot, sticky humidity, the rain felt good. We must have trudged through at least 800 puddles of standing water. Today, all 5 of us made it. 6 miles up, 6 miles back.
My feet and legs are feeling it. Nothing a little ice won't help.
My travel has finally subsided, so for the next several weeks, I will be doing my training from home. I have (2) 45 minute runs this week and then it is on to 14 miles next Sunday.
Thank you for your moral support and donations in the fight against AIDS!
